You did a really great interview with Bob Odenkirk earlier this year. Dumb question, but if you could interview anyone (living!), who would it be?
I know you said "living," and this is definitely the corniest possible answer to you question, but I've been thinking lately about my grandpa Cecil, who died when I was 21. He had an adventurous youth, boxing and riding the rails during the Depression, and I wish I had asked him more about it. As for non-dead people, I talked to Kanye a long time ago and would love to again.
What's your favorite thing to do around the holidays?
I like finding great, weird, or truly awful holiday songs I missed growing up. I recommend the Jackson 5's "Up on the Housetop," as well as "Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto" from the Death Row Records Christmas album. I do not recommend Bon Jovi's "Back Door Santa."
What can people expect from your reading?
It's a New Year's Eve story involving drugs and dashed expectations, like all good New Years stories.
