First of all, it's great to have you back in New York. What was your favorite thing about living in L.A.?
The dollar books at the The Iliad Bookstore in North Hollywood, and going to run in the park every day.
What have you worked on in 2017 that you're most proud of?
This year has been a process of settling in to a disciplined rhythm of writing professionally. I'm not as manically obsessed with my own work as I was two years ago, but I'm starting to have a a nice toolbox of skills. I've found that I really enjoy writing proper scenes, like the ones I got to do for this story on nudists and in this one on the superbloom.
What can people expect from your reading?
A momentary distraction from looking at their phones.
