RS: Your YouTube videos have been viewed millions of times and you have an active fanbase. What is it like to interact with your subscribers? Do you find that your fans influence the type of videos that you make?
AH: Interacting with my subscribers is a lot of fun. It's kind of like shouting at a stadium. You're not necessarily sure if anyone hears you, but they seem happy to be there anyway. It's also great to know that in addition to young teens, my peers also watch my stuff and get something out of it.
What can people expect from your reading on Saturday?
I'll be doing a reading of something I wrote while drunk. So probably some curse words and deep feels.
What can Akilah Hughes fans look forward to in 2015?
This year is gonna be huge. Doing bigger things (i.e., things off of the internet), but also more internetty stuff as well. I'm working on a web series that I'd like to kickstart this spring!
