You've had a short story published in The Indiana Review, which is one of the all-time great literary magazines. My understanding, though, is that no good fiction writing gets done in New York City. Did you write that story while you were out of town?

It's been my experience that no good writing that isn't about New York in some way gets done in New York! I'm easily influenced by environment and it's often tough for me to write about a physical place if I'm not in that physical place. But the story that the good good people at Indiana Review took was about New York, and I did write it here, in bed in the dark on a night when my air conditioning wasn't working and also I'd just watched a water bug crawl out of my my tub faucet. So I felt DEEPLY present in New York right then!

What can people expect from your reading?

I'm gonna say the word "little" at least five times probably and "feel" maybe twelve?? If I say "little feeling" at any point everyone has to take a shot!!!!!!!
