RS: Congrats on Femsplain reaching the Kickstarter goal! As the founding editor, you've worked alongside Amber Gordon to shape the community. What have those conversations involved?
GB: We've had a lot of open discussions--about everything from abortion to health to dating--whether or not they're always "positive" isn't necessarily the point. Sometimes we have to discuss the terrible parts of life, too. As long as these dialogues are being had, then we've done our jobs.
Your first piece for Femsplain chronicled a weekend you spent being "basic." Have you tried it out again since then?
For sure. I follow Kylie Jenner on Instagram and have been "really into yoga" lately. If that's not basic, I don't know what is.
What can people expect from your reading on Saturday?
My "sensual" piece will be awkward yet sexy -- much like my dating life. Jk (maybe).
