Are you doing anything special this summer?

I'm going to a beauty conference in Las Vegas at the end of July which I am so excited about because I'm a beauty editor and, as such, am obsessed with all things related to hair, makeup, and so on. I'm also planning a few trips with friends, but nothing concrete yet.

What have you worked on in the past year that you're most happy with?

I used to write poetry nonstop growing up, but didn't do much after college because I write so much for work, so the past year and a half, I've been trying to get back into it since it's one of my favorite things in the world to do. I've been part of the Poetry Brothel for about a year and a half, so I've been writing a lot of new work for the private readings I do there. And two of my friends and I made a poetry zine called Kill Yr Darlings; Tweet Yr Drafts that turned out really beautifully. So I'm just happy to be writing again outside of work.

What can people expect from your reading?

I'll be reading poetry, so to quote my professor in college, they can expect "grumpy romantic" stuff.
