Your novel "The Next" came out last year and has gotten some great reviews. What's it been like for you to see your book out in the world?
The best "sighting" of my book was when I saw it as a library book, with the cellophane-y book jacket cover, a bar code and an old-fashioned pocket on the inside for a due date slip. Seeing The Next as a library book took me straight back to childhood when books were my sole objects of desire. Joining those ranks -- catalogued, Library of Congressed, Dewey Decimaled -- well, that got me choked up.
What can people expect from your reading?
Who knows? I'll have to measure the moon and my mood.
