How is your spring going?
Spring’s been great, especially for someone like me who loves getting the flu. I’ve always thought of myself as a pretty lazy person, but confining myself to a bed for a week really made me appreciate my otherwise healthy productivity. However, I did watch a lot of TV, which is a thing I’m very good at.
What have you worked on in the past year that you're most happy with?
My writing partner, Joe Avella, and I have been working on a sketch comedy album that’s coming together pretty well. Our sketch duo, Teenager of the Year, was doing live shows in Chicago and festivals elsewhere in the United States, but after we both ended up in New York, we didn’t know what to do with our partnership until we came up with this, which might be the best use of our abilities.
What’s your favorite brunch spot?
Miriam in Park Slope. I used to only order the Eggs Benedict, but the Croque Madame is my current go-to. They have a Bloody Mary called the Bloody Miriam that is spicy and a little chunky which sounds gross but it really works for this excellent drink. I must also mention that this restaurant enjoys the distinction of being a place that raises its prices by a dollar every time I go. In the next few years their Crispy Dough will probably cost $100!
What can people expect from your reading?
I don’t want to tip my hand, but I’m sure I’ll be too loud.
