You wrote a beautiful short story, "The Last Will and Testament of Andre the Mackerel," which has a fantastical premise. What inspired you to write that?
I was in my bed one day (where I do all of my writing) and I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be fun to write a story about a talking fish?" That's where the story began.
Last year you wrote a fascinating piece for Rolling Stone about men's fashion in the NBA. How would you describe your personal fashion?
Though I greatly admire and respect the fashion-forwardness of NBA superstars, I can't say I have the same sensibilities. I do, however, have an expansive indoor wardrobe, which includes multiple bathrobes, multiple pairs of slippers and about a dozen pairs of pajama pants.
What can people expect from your reading?
